Empower Newsletter – January 2011

Welcome to the January, 2011 edition of the Empower Newsletter.  I hope you had a fantastic Christmas and are now excited about creating a great 2011.

What would make 2011 your best year ever?

“People with goals succeed because they know where they are going.  It’s as simple as that.” Earl Nightingale

A goal can be as simple as starting, maintaining or finishing something. How many new things did you start this year? (examples include: movies, new clothes, a new way home, new breakfast, books read, recipes, new friends, health, job) What did you maintain this year? (examples include: weeds, wardrobe conversations, health, keep house clean, relationships, business, finances, frame of mind, weight) How many things did you finish this year? (examples include: finishing entire toothpaste/shampoo, condiments, expiry dates, books, programs, projects, contracts, proposals, ideas, relationships that ended, job, courses)

Which area has the lowest activity – do you have balance?

Before deciding on a goal, to ensure the outcome is really what you want, ask yourself: – What will happen if I did achieve my goal? What wouldn’t happen if I did achieve my goal? What would happen if I didn’t achieve my goal? What wouldn’t happen if I didn’t achieve my goal?

Ask yourself how good will it feel when I achieve my goal?

Once you have decided on your goal:- • break it down into smaller goals/chunks • take daily or weekly action (it can be as simple as making a phone call, scheduling a meeting, reading an article, having a conversation or cleaning out one cupboard) • celebrate your milestones along the way

My challenge to you is, if you haven’t already done so, to write down one business and one personal goal for 2011, take consistent action towards achieving your goals and see what happens.  What do you have to lose?

If you would like to be accountable for your goals, I am more than happy for you to send your goals to me.  That way we can also celebrate your milestones together along the way.

Affirmation Corner

‘Goal’ Affirmations

‘I have the power to achieve any goal I desire’

‘I easily reach my goals on time’

Did you know?

’most of us focus on our problems 90% of the time’

What we focus on is what we get, so if we changed this ratio and thought about the solution to our problems 90% of the time, it stands to reason that we would surely see more possibilities.  Changing your mindset shifts your energy and changes your reality!
