Did you know? |
‘reassessing creates more direction’
Have you ever been so caught with all of your responsibilities that you just go through the motions and continue to do what you have always done?
Most of us have been guilty of this at one point or another in our lives. It can be easy to just sail through life without reassessing if what we want out of life has changed.
For example, your children may not be children anymore and this may have created less of a financial burden and given you more free time. By reassessing this situation, it may be an option to change from full time to part time employment. It may even give you the time to start writing that book, to exercise more or to do what you always wanted to do when you had more time.
Your situation may have changed in other ways too which may mean that you no longer need to do what you have been doing.
If your life has not changed, it is still a good idea to reassess to confirm you still want the same things in life.
So if what we want has changed, logically what needs to happen to get it will also need to change!
Reassessing your life will keep you moving forward. It will help you decide what’s important to you. Whether it’s money, experiences, success, family or relationships it doesn’t matter. The important thing is that it is what YOU want.
If you don’t keep reassessing your life, life will just happen to you, and you’ll be forced to go along for the ride. Take control of your life and start driving it in the direction you want!
Start spending your time, money and energy on the things you want! If there are areas in your life you spend too much time, money or energy on that don’t serve you, STOP!
And remember ‘there is always another way!’ You may not have seen it before or you may not have previously been as committed.
Definition |
Reassessing
- to assess (something) again
- re-evaluate
- weigh up again
If you reassess something, you think about it and decide whether you need to change your opinion about it.
Something to Ponder
If you need help reassessing begin by making a list of all the areas of your life that are important to you. Your list will be unique to you but you might want to include work, love, friendship, health, money, helping others, personal development and enjoying yourself. When you have completed this assessment spend some time deciding which of these areas you are going to focus on changing.
